Billy Murray from Belfast in Northern Ireland - a multi world Kickboxing champion is now a trainer and mentor of champions at the ProKick Gym in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
The Belfast boy Murray, who was bullied at school from the age of 15 years-old started his martial art quest in the early 1970's with - boxing, Karate, Kung-Fu, ju-jitsu, Tai-Jutsu and moving on to kick and thai-boxing. Murray began training fighters at the start of the 1980’s
No more worries about self-defense after his martial art career took-off. He went on to mass an amateur world kickboxing crown countless black belts in different disciplines / art forms. Turning professional, he lifted other accolades such as Irish, British, European and not just one world championship title, but four at four different weight divisions.
Murray's tale - from bullied schoolboy to multi world champion, trainer of champions and owner of what is now one of the best kickboxing gyms in Ireland if not the world - is so incredible as to be almost unbelievable.
These achievements and accomplished are without the help of a real main mentor, coach or management team – It’s been all self-driven in a belief in himself and in the sport which he has instilled in many others and continues to do so.
With well over 100 promotions under his belt Billy Murray must be the longest and most successful fight promoter in Irish history.
To-date he has trained, guided, promoted, and managed no less than 10 world champions 23 European or Intercontinental champions and numerous national champions.
